Competitive travel awards for students and postdocs will be offered with the enthusiastic support of the Australian Vascular Biology Society (AVBS), North American Vascular Biology Organisation (NAVBO), European Vascular Biology Organisation (EVBO), Japan Vascular Biology and Medicine Organization (JVBMO) and the Canadian Society of Atherosclerosis, Thrombosis and Vascular Biology (CSATVB).
The Heart and Stroke/Richard Lewar Centre of Excellence in Cardiovascular Research (HSRLCE) will provide five Travel Awards at $1,000 each for trainees to attend IVBM 2008. Applicants must be a trainee of a member of the HSRLCE (i.e., a graduate student, undergraduate student, post-doctoral fellow, resident, or equivalent). The North American Vascular Biology Organisation will provide 3 Travel Awards at $1,000 each for trainees to attend IVBM 2008. Applicants must be a trainee member of NAVBO (ie. a graduate or undergraduate student, post-doctoral fellow, resident or equivalent). A membership application can accompany the award application and trainee membership in NAVBO is currently $40 a year. Applicants should submit a copy of the abstract, a letter stating interest in the IVBM 2008 Travel Award and their C.V. to:

Canadian Society of Atherosclerosis, Thrombosis and Vascular Biology (CSATVB)
The Canadian Society of Atherosclerosis, Thrombosis and Vascular Biology
(CSATVB) will provide 7 Trainee Travel Awards with each travel award up to $Can1,500. We ask that each Canadian applicant submit a request for award directly to CSATVB, in addition to submitting to the meeting itself - IVBM 2008. A CSATVB committee will adjudicate the awards. European Vascular Biology Organisation (EVBO)
The Council of the European Vascular Biology Organisation will provide up to 5 Travel Grants of Euro1000 each, based on competitive evaluation of submitted abstracts, to assist younger EVBO members from European laboratories attend IVBM 2008. EVBO members who are 10 years or less (excluding career breaks) from graduation and who have an accepted abstract should apply by 29th February to jeremy.pearson@kcl.ac.uk attaching the abstract and a one-page CV. If you are not yet a member of EVBO, please apply for a membership form at the same email address. Decision letters will be mailed by March 10th.
Australian Vascular Biology Society (AVBS)
Australian Vascular Biology Society (AVBS) will provide up to 10 travel grants of AUS$1,000 and free registration for Australian post-graduate students and (up to 3 years) postdoctoral fellows whose abstracts have been accepted for presentation at IVBM 2008. The best oral and best poster at the up-coming AVBS meeting will automatically be offered an IVBM travel grant. All awardees must be members, or have applied for membership to AVBS, at the time of submission of their abstract and application. Japanese Vascular Biology and Medicine Organisation (JVBMO)
JVBMO will provide up to 10 travel awards at 50,000 Japanese yen. Japanese applicants should be members of JVBMO and 39 years old or less. The following documents should be submitted to the JVBMO Secretariat by February 15, 2008: 1) membership of JVBMO, 2) 5 copies of the abstract, 3) major figures/tables arranged on one page of letter size paper and their legends written in Japanese on a separate letter size page with five photocopies of each. 4) C.V.
The selection will be made by the JVBMO Committee.
